lack of posts
sorry for the lack of posts and pictures, I have been kinda overwhelmed with orders and working all spare hours in the new studio. I will try and get some pics up! I’m off to oban this friday to take some scarves to a shop who is intertested- and am possibly going to start asking other potential places too.
Hopefull I’ll manage to get the rest of my things in the studio – loom is still wrapped up in the garden awaiting transport and so is the smaller wooden one inside and also my grandfathers stand which I use to sit on when weaving.
hooray! New Studio!
At last after 7 years of waiting I’ve got a new studio ! Can’t wait to have most of my stuff out of the house and my loom saved from the garden!!
Not quite sure how I’m going to afford it but I’ll just have to chase those potential commissions! ( I have a few) tapestry portaits in the potential pipe line!
Any way I’d better get on…
just desperate to tell you!
craft fair work
been working like a mad woman for this fair, did it yesterday and sold 3 scarves ,3 waist coats and no booties even though everyone picked them up and said “oh how cute!”
also a picture there of some fabric I got from a charity shop, white and silver, think I’m going to put it on a black scarf.
Really want to do some weaving soon getting a hankering for it! So today I uploaded the bootees I didn’t sell to my etsy shop.
happy new year when it comes!
everyone is stocking up for the festivities.
.me? no i’m looking forward to a quiet evening and start the new year afresh! (tommorropw – hogmanay) I’ll be tidying up after christmas to start the new year more organised – at least a bit! thats my new year resolution! I’ve got big descisions to make in 2009 – whether to invest more in the scarf and waitcoats or concentrate on my handwoven portraits…..bit of a conumdrum going on in my head!
Any way have a good one and I’ll see you in the new year!
2nd portrait of fiona finished!
At last i finished this commission! This has been my hardest tapestry yet I think! I am pretty happy with it! Though always as an artist I always feel I’d weave it a little differently now if I was to start again!
This tapestry is about 29 x 20 cm and is hand woven using linen and cotton.
nearly finished!!!!!!
make make make finish!
today i;’m sort of wean free so I’m going to try and finish my portrait tapestry and design at least one scarf.
purples and blues I’m thinking.I looked at the pantone prediction site for colours in the autumn and it was a bit of an eyeopener! So many predictions to choose from and all similar to an extent but different!
i’ve got so many half finished projects..I need to make a stance to myself and get things finished off! Then I don’t think I’ll be in so much of a guddle!
As alwauys I never seem to get a full day… there is always something to do out with making…today there is the nice distraction of my neices birthday party………..
